Tri-Cal Kids Triathlon Camps   http://www.tricalifornia.com/camps/2003/PacificGrove.htm  Tri-Cal Kids Triathlon Camps – Introducing the youth of California to the sport of triathlon.  During a typical week of camp, kids get all the information needed to participate successfully in the “kids” specific race on Friday.  By the end of the week, they know how to shift, pedal and control their bike effectively. They are aware of the need for safety in the pool, on their bike or running on the trails.  They learn to use a clock to do a swim workout, do bike to run combos, swim to bike combos, practice transitions, learn about healthy nutrition, see the importance of organizing their race day needs and many more triathlon specific exercises.  By the time Friday comes along, every athlete is confident they can successfully complete their race day goals.  We stress the importance of participation as winning.  As each young triathlete crosses the finish line, the smile on their face says it all.  It is our goal to help these young athletes become confident in their athletic abilities as well as have fun doing it.   All of our coaches have experience in racing triathlons as well as working with kids.

Monterey Bay Equestrian Center   http://www.montereybayequestrian.com/daycamps.html  During the summer, we offer a great way for your child (7-14 yrs.) to spend the day.  The camps normally run Mon-Fri from 9-2. Some camps will be 4-day camps.  Each day the child takes their horse out, learns to brush and clean it, then saddle it up for a ride. The camps are set up so the older, or more experienced ones, can advance as well as the little ones. The entire time is spent with the horses and each child will have their own horse for the week. During the camp the children will learn grooming, saddling, safety, and horsemanship. They will learn western pleasure, how to barrel race, go through an obstacle course trail riding and much more. The week ends with a horse show in which the children show off what they have learned. One of the events of the show is a costume class, where they dress themselves and their horse in a home made costume of their choice.  Everyone wins ribbons (nice ones) and the high point winner receives a trophy!  Monterey Bay Equestrian Center, 19805 Pesante Road, Salinas, CA. 93907 (831) 663-5712
